Norwegian Minister Ms. Magnhild M Kleppa visit India

Ms. Magnhild Meltveit Kleppa, Norwegian Minister for Local Government and Regional Development was on a first three day visit to India from October 28 to 31, 2007 on an official invitation from Mr. Mani Shankar Aiyar, Hon’ble Minister of Panchayati Raj and Youth Affairs, Government of India.

Besides meeting Hon’ble Mani Shankar Aiyar, Ms. Kleppa also met Ms. Kumari Selja, Hon’ble Minister of State for Urban Employment and Poverty Allevation.

Ms. Kleppa addressed an Indo-Norwegian Symposium on Local Governance at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi. She attended the Indira Gandhi Memorial Function and paid a visit to the National informatics Centre (NIC) and Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU).

The Minister also visited Neem Kheda Village in the state of Haryana where she met local women members of Panchayat.
