Indian Minister for Science & Technology, Hon. Kapil Sibal visits Norway

Hon. Kapil Sibal, Minister for Science & Technology and Ocean Development, Government of India, is paying a visit to Norway from November 12 to 15, 2006.

 The programme for the Minister includes signing of a Bilateral Agreement on Cooperation in the Fields of Science and Technology. This will take place at a conference on High North at Rica Ishavshotell in Tromsø. There will also be a preparatory meeting in the Joint Working Group on Science & Technology.

 The visit also includes meeting with the  Norwegian Minister for Education and Research, Mr. Øystein Djupedal as well as other ministers and political leaders. During the visit, the focus will be on Indo-Norwegian cooperation in the field of science and technology which stands to benefit education, research, IT and business sectors in both India and Norway.

 Dr. P.S. Goel, Secretary, Ministry of Earth Sciences, Mr. Y.P. Kumar, Head, International Division, Department of Science & Technology (DST), Dr. Rajiv Sharma, Advisor, International Division, DST, Dr. George John, Department of Biotechnology and Mr. Azam Mian, APS to Hon’ble Minister are also part of the official delegation.
