New Funds for Contemporart Art

The Office for Contemporary Art (OCA) seek applicants for funds to enhance collaboration in the contemporary art field. Indian artists, independent cultural producers and organizations are encouraged to apply.

International Contemporary Art
The Office for Contemporary Art was created to stimulate visual arts and contemporary production from Norway and to strengthen the international position of contemporary visual arts and production. One of the primary means by which OCA pursues this goal is to offer financial support to enable international institutions and international curators to work more comprehensively and thoroughly with individual artists, art groups and professionals to convey the critical initiatives behind their production.

Seeks Indian Artists
The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has allocated new funds to OCA to further develop cooperation and professional networking between OCA and the constituency of artists, independent cultural producers, and organizations that are located in designated countries or associated with these countries. India is among these countries, so Indian artists can now apply for funds from OCA.

Many Possibilities
The funds may be used for professional research visits by cultural producers, artists, and curators, short-term residencies for cultural producers and artists, development of seminars, conferences, art projects, workshops, etc. that focus on the further development of professional exchange and networking between and among countries and project development (+ pilot projects) on an international scale.

Deadlines 2009 15 May – 15 September – 15 November
