Norway and India have entered into an agreement on cooperation in the areas of fisheries and aquaculture. “Our long-term ambition is that India will be a major new market for Norwegian fish,” Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Støre said today, after signing the agreement during his official visit to New Delhi.

Norwegian Minister of the Environment and International Development Mr. Erik Solheim and his Indian colleague Jairam Ramesh signed the agreement during the Delhi High Level Conference on Climate Change: Technology development and Transfer on the 22nd of October.

This strategy will equip us to meet these opportunities in the best possible way.” said Norway's Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Støre when the Norwegian Government launched the strategy on 28 August.
