Sámi national day: from Kárášjohka to New Delhi
February sixth is the national day of the Sámi people, the indigenous population of Northern Norway and Arctic Europe. Like the Norwegian constitutional day on 17th May, this event is also marked by the Embassy in New Delhi.

This year, the Minister for Food and Agriculture, Mr. Lars Peder Brekk, joined the celebration. On the photo Mr. Brekk can be seen together with his delegation and Embassy staff. The Sámi flag has its roots in traditional colours and patterns, and is recognised as an official Norwegian flag.
