PETROTECH-2009, the 8th edition of the prestigious biennial International Oil & Gas Conferences and Exhibitions being held at New Delhi was attended by about 4000 delegates, guests and speakers from about 50 countries and 1050 representatives from different organizations. The exhibition had 273 companies participating from across the global. One hundred and forty one companies participated in the event from India and 132 from overseas. (ANI)
India is the world's fifth largest consumer of energy, and its demand for petroleum products is growing by more than 6% a year. There is ever growing demand and supply gap. The recent initiatives by Government of India to open up the Oil and Gas sector for investment through direct route and otherwise has created a sea of opportunity for corporates to invest through the latest and path breaking technologies, investments and qualified quality human resource.
