Sustaining rice production in a changing climate

Last updated: 16/04/2010 // 'ClimaRice-II' is a project Supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Norway, through the Royal Norwegian Embassy, New Delhi (2009- 2011) and focuses on climate change, agriculture, water, food security and livelihoods.

This interdisciplinary project aims to test and validate climate change adaptation techniques related to rice production, in close co-operation with farmers and local agencies in two study areas in India, namely: Krishna river basin in Andhra Pradesh and Cauvery river basin in Tamil Nadu.

The other project partners include – Bioforsk, Norway; International Pacific Research Center (IPRC), Hawaii; Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), Coimbatore along with International Water Management Institute (IWMI), Hyderabad.
