Snøhetta, Norway’s leading architecture company, in association with its Indian partner, Space Matters, is the front runner for the competition underway to build the ‘Pataliputra Museum of Human Civilisation’ in Patna, Bihar.
The museum will be built on Bailey Road in Patna, and will attract visitors from all over the world to provide a glimpse of the social, cultural, political and religious aspects of the historic city.
The Royal Norwegian Embassy congratulates Snøhetta and Space Matters for being the probable candidate for this prestigious project. It is hoped that they will be able to beat the other competitors to gain this project of extreme prestige and importance. This will also substantially help in increasing Norway’s presence in the Indian architecture scene.
Norway is a leading country in the world in the field of architecture and some of our companies and architects have produced distinctive and unique works throughout the globe. While trends in architecture and design know no national borders, Norway’s architects have been able to carve a niche for themselves by amalgamating local factors with Norwegian styles.
We are hopeful that Snøhetta and Space Matters together will be given a chance to produce something magnificent at the ancient city of Patna. Their ideas about the Pataliputra museum will hopefully provide deep insights to the world about the values and traditions of India.
