Between Reality and Dream

The art exhibition, ‘Between Reality and Dream’, by the Indian Norwegian artist, Mamta Baruah Herland, will be held from 14 to 20 April at Nehru Tower Art Centre in Mumbai.

Mamta Baruah Herland is a painter and a digital artist born in Assam in India who has been living in Norway since 1987.

Mamta’s acrylic paintings are a combination of naturalistic and abstract expression, created by various techniques. In addition to her paintings she practises variety of mediums from the numerous disciplines of photography, digital printmaking and video. She employs technology as her collaborator and combines with her artistic endeavor to create images that refers to hazy boundaries of rationality and magic, reality and dream and highlights the move from the old logic of rationality to a utopian dream society.

The imageries are seen as inventive, subtle and lyrical, as well as technically impeccable, and where she skillfully dissolves the illusion of true space.

The exhibition at the Nehru Art Gallery will show paintings, digital art and video.
