Norwegian literature in focus at World Book Fair 2008, New Delhi

Norwegian Literature Abroad (NORLA) participated at the Delhi book fair for the first time this year. NORLA is  a government-funded, non-commercial foundation which promotes Norwegian literature. Several translations of Norwegian books were released during the fair. Norwegian authors Herbjørg Wassmo and  Lars Amund Vaage presented an anthology of contemporary Norwegian literature together with the translator Teji Grover, published by Vani Prakashan.  Eirik Newth’s books for children were launched and he visited several schools in Delhi during the fair.

A large  Norwegian literary delegation participated in a literary seminar : The Global vs The Local, what concerns our writers today? at Sahitya Akademi along with a panel of distinguished authors and translators.
