UN Women and the Government of Karnataka signs agreement on empowering women

March 11 State Secretary Ingrid Fiskaa launched Norway’s new Taxation for Development program, which aims at helping developing countries to increase their own tax revenues.

For the last two weeks senior officials have participated in trainers of labor inspectors workshop supported by the Norwegian government.

On 4th November 2009, H.E Ann Ollestad, Ambassador of Norway to India and Dr. Ines Alberdi, the Executive Director of UNIFEM signed an agreement on “Promoting women’s political leadership and governance in India and South Asia” at the Royal Norwegian Embassy, New Delhi.

Norway, the US, Australia, Brazil, Italy, New Zealand, Switzerland and the UK intend to transfer 10% of their stocks of the H1N1 vaccine to developing countries. “Pandemics do not respect national borders.
