Last updated: 10/02/2011 // The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) put emphasize on collaboration with India for 2011. In February 40 representatives from NTNU visited India, and in October the university will organize a week long India event.

The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), based in Trondheim, already has extensive research collaboration with approximately 25 universities, research institutions and organizations in India. The University also hosts 100 researchers and students on exchange programs from Indian universities. The delegation of 40 representatives from NTNU used their days in India to visit universities and get new contacts for collaboration.

In addition to its academic staff NTNU also brought culture from Trondheim to India. String players The Trondheim Soloists did two exclusive performances at the Norwegian Embassy, as well as a series of workshops with Indian classical musicians.

India 2011
NTNU, in collaboration with other institutions, will from 1st – 9th of October organize India 2011 – an event with focus on culture, research and industry and commerce. India will be the main focus for all the arrangements during the week; one will get to see Indian art, listen to Indian music and attend seminars with researcher from India and Norway. India 2011 will be an arena of interaction between Indian and Norwegian research- and business communities. The project is a response to the Government of Norway’s India-Norway strategy, and is aiming to serve as an element in the implementation of the strategy. India 2011 is the beginning of an extensive collaboration, that hopefully will continue for years to come.
