Tandberg opened R&D centre in Bangalore

Tandberg Video opened its forth R&D (research and development) centre in Bangalore, India 8. April. This centre joins Tandberg’s other centres in Oslo, New Zealand and London.

28/04/2008 :: The Norwegian Ambassador to India, H.E. Ms. Ann Ollestad and Innovation Norway participated at the opening of the centre, which will be an important technology- hub for the company.

“We are doing this more to attract qualified personnel, and to be close to our major strategic customers, than for purely economic reasons”, Snorre Kjeldsbu said, Vice President of Tandberg Technology and Innovation.

Tandberg is one of the leading videoconference suppliers in the world, with a market share of over 40 %. Their launch in India is a strategic decision for the establishment of a development centre. The Indian market is additionally one of the emerging markets for the company.
As the executive VP of Products, Mr. Odd Johnny Winge commented about the opening of the centre: “It marks a significant milestone in our research and development efforts and is an important step in the expansion of our global presence”.
