EFTA Parliamentary Committe meets in Delhi

The Norwegian Embassy hosted the meeting of the EFTA Parliamentary Committee in New Delhi 2-3 April.

07/04/2008 :: The delegation, consisting of the EFTA  Parliamentary members from Iceland, Switzerland and Norway  and their respective Ambassadors  to India,  had several meetings with parliamentary groups, institutions and the Secretariat of the Indian government during the visit. The purpose of the meetings was to generate a dialouge on the merits of a comprehensive trade and investment agreement between the EFTA member states and India and to strenghten EFTA- Indian relations in general.

Issues such as climate change and renewable energy were additionally discussed throughout the visit.

The delegation  also  met with the  Standing  Committee on  Foreign  Affairs, the Confederation of Indian Industry, and the Ministry for Commerce and Industry as well as the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).

The visit ended with a reception at the Norwegian Embassy, hosted by the Norwgian ambassador to India, H.E. Ms. Ann Ollestad.
